Shri Shailesh Joshi, organising secretary for Vidya Bharti’s Devgiri and Vidarbha regions, spoke at the closing of a foundational-education training camp.
He said the National Education Policy and teacher training would help raise a generation that holds India in honour. Even when parents insist on English-medium schooling, it is the teacher’s duty to explain the case for the mother tongue.
“We must go against the current and insist on education in the mother tongue,” he said. The training emphasised the child’s development through the five koshas, from the individual self toward the highest.
Most families in the Devgiri Region are Marathi-speaking. That makes Marathi-medium concept-building at Shishu Vatika and primary level a natural strength of schools here.
